Expand horizons—
your students’ and your own.

The Teach18 Teacher Certification Program gives aspiring teachers an innovative and supportive pathway to a career in West Texas schools.

We believe there’s a bright future on the horizon for West Texas—a future driven by a growing economy, a caring community, and an excellent education for every student. From Andrews to Presidio and Van Horn to Coahoma, our teachers help students uncover their potential and broaden their horizons.

Where We Teach

Representing 33 school districts and 7 charter schools across 19 counties, Region 18 ESC created Teach18 to prepare new teachers to meet the needs of West Texas students. Through a rigorous selection process, hands-on training in real classrooms, and ongoing support and feedback from experienced educators, Teach18 is your first step towards a successful and rewarding teaching career.

Why Teach18?

Prepare for a career focused on the future, as you inspire and teach West Texas students. You’ll train with experienced educators to master the skills you need to help students reach their full potential—and become active members of our West Texas community. You’ll earn certification to fill a critical teaching role in our schools, in high-need subjects like Bilingual, English as a Second Language, STEM, and Special Education.

Our innovative training approach will help you learn how to create and deliver engaging lessons and build bridges between academic standards and students’ values and experiences. Our commitment to excellence means that your certification will tell school leaders that you have mastered the instructional skills needed to lead your students to academic success.

But the real pay-off is the future you’ll create for yourself and your students. Whether you choose a small town or a bigger city, you’ll find a community that values great teaching as a pathway to future success.

Who We Want

We’re seeking candidates from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, from recent college graduates to accomplished professionals, including career-changers, current paraprofessionals, and substitute teachers. Our ideal candidate is driven by our mission to inspire and lead West Texas students and communities to success.
